After wiping the sweat from his furrowed brow, the sounds of laughter echoed throughout the carpenter’s thoughts - a reminder of better times. Oh, the rapid-fire questions from his eight-year-old brown-eyed daughter warmed the cold reality of a difficult life. Even to this day those treasured moments warmed his chilled emotions. These days, few people needed chairs and tables. Everyone either losted their job or all their money. The dark days of an economic melt down reached this carpentry shop. Many prosperous years have come and gone. Now the house and woodshop echoed with sound of empty bins and growling stomachs. More scrapping and chopping for little orders only produced more despair from the carpenter’s aching heart. The apple of his eye was gone.
A tear fell from his weather beaten face. A whisper echoed against the walls, "Why did you leave me? Was it that fight over money or your mother’s death from cancer?" No longer able to contain the overwhelming wave of memories, the tools dropped from the carpenter’s hands. Slowly, with the turn of his right hand a name appeared. Tear upon tear fell upon an engraved name. "Rebecca! Rebecca! Come home again!" fell from his quivering lips.
A father’s heart never forgot the tender moments or his daughter’s first steps. A father’s heart never lets go of a wayward daughter. And so it is with Jesus Christ – the true carpenter of humanities heart. Jesus never stopped loving and caring for those, which he beheld. From His risen throne in Glory, Christ’s teary-eyed moments produce a quivering response, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands: Your walls are continually before Me." (Isaiah 49: 15, 16 NKJV) With an ability to see all and know all, Christ planned a future filled with joy, compassion, and love for the apple of His eye. Again His quivering lips respond to the skin pealing rejection from a wayward daughter, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11: 28 NKJV)
Did you hear him? The call from a broken hearted dad? Remember this, the tears you cried over the foreclosure or the repossession of your car, someone else saw and felt your pain. A father never lets go of a daughter’s hand even the rebellious. On the throne in Glory sits a carpenter waiting for a call from a carpenter’s daughter.

Sign of the Times
After thirty years of public school teaching my brother-in-law retired. His retirement brought peace, contentment, and renovations. The burden of endless regulations and parent teacher meetings faded into the wastebasket of old memories. The good times arrived with cruises and community good works. With a clear conduct record, the school board confidently assigned fill in teaching assignments. Until a phone call from the police department crashed into my brother-in-law’s perfect conduct record.
At thirteen years of age, the conquering spirit of my brother-in-law bounded over cancer. Even the loss of a leg due to cancer couldn’t stop the urge to achieve great things. Until an accusation about sexual misconduct shattered the dreams and a perfect conduct record. A former student from twenty years ago filed an accusation with the police department. The enemy’s tactics knows no limits. Satan is the ultimate accuser. Take heed about this sign of the time: "Fear none of those thins which thou shalt suffer. Behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried…." (Revelation 2: 10 NKJV)
After the interview, finger printing, and photo, the charge of sexual assault shocked more than his family. The school board removed my brother-in-law’s name from any further fill in teaching assignments. If that wasn’t enough to instill a guilty feeling within my brother-in-law, the school board regulations hindered my brother-in-law from all contact with former students and teachers. Don’t be fooled! Guilty until proven innocent is another sign of the time.
Words of warning, if you are a teacher or youth worker, protect yourself. Never teach without a partner. Never be alone with a student. Piano teachers, file your lessons with all young students. You never know when or how an accusation shatters your future plans. Your enemy – Satan – seeks someone to devour.
If wrongfully accused, bring an attorney with you to the police station. Know you legal rights. Because of the sing of the time requires that all saints guard against any future accusations. Once a criminal charge is laid life never returns to a former innocence. The seeds of doubt cloud any former friendships. Heartache and misunderstandings invade your future plans and pleasant retirement. So, pray for protection for your family members, Sunday school teachers, or youth workers before this sign of the time destroys more perfect conduct records.

Times like These
Shocking! Absolutely shocking! The condition of our modern day prayer life stuns the Lord. With tears and heart felt words the Lord whispers to your and me, "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." (Ezekiel 22:30) All of us from time to time wish that our families, friends, and society changed their wayward habits. We even daydream about great adventures into the realm of faith. But, often our apathy or ignorance dictates our future.
Ignorance about prayer is no excuse for a fruitless life. A prayerless saint drops their guard when the going gets tough. The weapon that Satan destroys first is prayer. If the saints cease praying all hell breaks lose. The battle field levels and many warriors fall. Are you ready to stop this carnage? Are you ready to fight? If so, where do you and I begin?
Attend your church prayer meeting. Come prepared with a list of friends, unsaved family members and enemies. Pay attention to other’s requests. Start asking the Lord for a mighty movement of His spirit. If nothing happens, keep asking. Because, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7) Everyone needs prayer. Everyone needs deliverance from God’s wrath.
Make an appointment with Jesus. Show up on time and ready to fight. Christ often waits upon our serious pursuit of spiritual matters. The shallowness of our requests slaps the savior in the face. Jesus often escaped to the hillside to communion with His father. Christ never forgot his assignment.
Faithfulness is the first step into the battlefield of prayer. Satan never gives up our loved ones and friends without a fight. Neither should you. Learn to fight! Learn you weapon of prayer! Because sooner or later, your loved ones and friends will encounter this: "Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord God" (Ezekiel 22: 31)
Remember this, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist or a biblical scholar to enter the battle? It doesn’t take a pastor or deacon. Christ looks for anyone with a persistent attitude and a long prayer list.

The Ultimate Trailblazer
If you and I desire a humble place of honor, we must understand the ultimate trailblazer – Jesus Christ. Trailblazers leave maps with a set of instructions to guide those that follow in their footsteps. So, it is with Jesus Christ.
Before Christ accepted his father’s assignment Jesus did this: "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God. But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men." (Philippians 2: 7) This is the first qualification for a spiritual trailblazer. Did you get it? You and I must lay aside our pride of life and accomplishments and become a servant to the Most High.
Not only was Christ a servant, but Jesus also did this: "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled, became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." (Philippians 2: 8) Humility demands obedience to our authority figure. Only God the Father has the master plan for Christ’s life and anyone’s life. Even thou Jesus Christ still retained his power, he did this: "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge; and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me." (John 5: 30) When you and I serve the Lord in our fleshly power, we insult the Most High God. Humility waits for orders and responses in the power of the Holy Spirit.
A humble trailblazer practices this mind set: "If any men (women) desires to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant to all." (Matthew 27: 64) Jesus always placed others before himself - especially his Father’s wishes.
If there is one thing that Christ demonstrates about humility, it was this: training others for service. None has or ever will have a ministry like Jesus Christ. With only twelve spiritually dense disciples and no writing agent, publisher, television or radio show, the world somehow hears about the continuing work of Jesus Christ. Even thou his earthly ministry was limited to several years, the message about redemption lives on in the lives of future disciples. Humility trusts God and instills in others the ability to forward a heavenly kingdom. Never at anytime did Christ over ride His Fathers orders.
A test for an ultimate trailblazing assignment involves the ability to turn over a fruitful ministry into the hands of another. If the Holy Spirit gave that command, could you turn over the ministry you lead to someone else. Jesus did! Christ primary purpose on earth was training his future spiritual trailblazers for the cross and a ministry of redemption.
In closing, I feel pressed in my spirit to mention that God waits and longs to send more trailblazers into uncharted areas in the worldly darkness. Where are the instructors with lessons on servanthood, on obedience, and endurance? Where are the spiritual trailblazers with flaming swords of righteousness? Christ endured many hardships so that you and I find the straight path into the presence of a Holy God.

Hidden Agenda
After thirty-three years of wedded bliss, the light dawns on a new day of enlightenment. Apparently, with my marriage contract, I inherited a highly favored position. It didn’t come with a new car or a fancy business card. There was no power lunches, no business suits, or conference calls. It came without all the perks of a Wall Street financial wizard. The hidden agenda and fine print to this highly favored working contract encompassed every area of my new relationship with my husband. Our future happiness depended on my understanding and accepting this responsible position.
After twenty years of frustration, bitterness, and unfulfilled expectations, the weight of this hidden agenda crashed down upon my wedded bliss. My ignorance of this responsible position clouded my vision of marital happiness. Ignorance isn’t bliss in any relationship. Peace on earth and good will to all men and women requires an understanding of your mates hidden agendas and lofty expectations.
When you and I enter into any relationship without stating our expectations of another, your mate suffers from their unfulfilled desires. Ignorance caused many an argument or sleepless night. Many a harsh word damaged the romantic moments. How do you and I enlighten our mates to their hidden agenda?
Try humor! Even though it took many years for me to laugh about my blunders I understand that if anything goes wrong in this household, "I’m responsible." We laugh about it now. But there were many years of anger, hurt, and sleepless night. His hidden agenda eroded my contentment and fractured my future happiness.
Try organization! My husband couldn’t fine his tools if his life depended upon it. He tries. But organization is not one of his best attributes. He loses bills, tools, clothing and just about everything. With our future happiness in mind, I return all tools to their proper spaces. All manuals and important bills are filed neatly away in my office desk. Sooner or later, in the middle of making dinner, I hear this, "Honey, where is my …….?" With the smoke detector screeching and a cat clawing my pant leg, I dash down the stairs to retrieve the item in question. There is never a dull moment in our household. With his short-term memory loss each question needs an answer that very moment. My husband’s mind operates differently than mine. At that very moment my responsibility is dinner not fetching a tool – not according to my mate. The head on collision with our hidden agendas clashes with our future happiness.
Try acceptance. Short-term memory loss is difficult for anyone. I can’t change my mate. Only Jesus Christ can enhance another’s memory. Love is more than a warm feeling. Sustaining the peaceful relationship in any marriage requires that you and I uncloak our hidden agendas and lofty expectations. Grace and love clouds the shortcomings of others.
Only the love of God living in our hearts overflows into the frustrating moments.

Blistful Ignorance
Ignorance is not bliss. Neither are powerful weapons in the hands of the inexperienced warriors. Only the wise and discerning soldier understands the danger of ignorance. If a warrior knew beforehand that their enemy targeted the storehouse house for a robbery, would he leave the front door open? If he did, his ignorance caused the removal of his weapons. "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace." Luke 11: 21 NKJV
Often I wondered if the problems plaguing our churches and God’s people resulted from their ignorance of the weapons at their disposal. With few Sunday morning sermonettes declaring the dangers of our warfare, where do we turn for enlightenment? Is that enlightenment found in our Sunday school lessons? Perhaps! Only if the teachers understand spiritual warfare and are listening to the Holy Spirit. Make no mistake about it; we are in a war – "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood." Ephesians 6: 12 NKJV. How do we overcome our ignorance of this spiritual battle?
Firstly, we understand that our enemy is satan and his army of wicked angels – no ignorance there. However, ignorance to the enemy’s tactics might become a problem. He will try every trick in the book to overpower and destroy God’s children. Satan tempted Christ in the desert. "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward he was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." Knowledge of scripture overcame Christ’s need for food. Satan didn’t stop there, remember this temptation on the cross: "And saying, ‘You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross." (Matthew 27: 40 NKJV) Stripped, beaten beyond recognition and barely alive, Christ stood His ground. Don’t think that satan wouldn’t tempt us at our weakest point. We must know our weaknesses and rely on the risen Christ for our strength during our satanic temptations. "For when I am weak, then I am strong." (II Corinthians 12: 10 NKJV)
Ignorance of your weakness would result in heartaches and pain or even your rewards in heaven. Jesus fought Satan’s temptation with scripture. Only the word of God is living and powerful enough to bring down a lie. "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piecing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4: 12 NKJV) If the church and the body of Christ are guilty of anything, it is the willful ignorance of scripture. If you doubt this, the next time you attend a religious gathering listen for scripture in the messages. In the good old days, our Sunday schools challenged the young people and adults to memorize scripture. How often are you challenged to memorize a chapter or even a book of the Bible? This practice was common in the last century. Before beginning to train on our powerful weapons, we must understand that scripture thoroughly equips us for Christ’s purposes. "That the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (I Timothy 4:1 7KJV) Do you know your weakness? Are you ignorant of the scriptures regarding your weapons? Remember that ignorance isn’t spiritual bliss!

On Your doorstep
Hospitality is a natural human tendency implanted by the grace of Jesus Christ within the human heart. We often enjoy sharing our worldly wealth with others. Many friends and even strangers enjoy a dinner party or a back yard barbecue. When our phone rings we often answer with a friendly greeting. Deep within our hearts, the welcoming grace of Jesus Christ overflows to all within our reach. However, often God’s children lack the wisdom and discernment regarding the potential enemy outside our door.
The enemy innocently lurks around the next corner. Their dress and speech is engineered to deceive. They carry a Bible and other literature but within the disguise lurks an insidious enemy – the spirit of lies. The next time your doorbell rings, don’t ignore the Holy Spirit’s warning: "For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and antichrist." (II John 1: 7 NKJV) I warn you, don’t be taken in by the spirit of lies. Not everyone that knocks on your door or rings your doorbell is beneficial to the saint. The word of God warns "Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son." (II John 1: 9 NKJV)
The extra literature and books according to their interpretation are false. Beware regarding the cunning deceitfulness. Their truth includes many roads to heaven. I warn you! Many have fallen for they clever scheme of deception. All the rules and regulations added on to the word of God only ensnares an unsuspecting seeker of truth. The enemy standing at the door looks, acts, and even talks like a true believer, but something is missing. At that moment when your doorbell rings, listen to this counsel from the Holy Spirit: "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds." (II John 1: 10: 11 NKJV)
God says what he means and He means what He says. Don’t let a deceiver into your house unless you desire to share in their evil deeds.

Litmus Test
In the end times, the exhortation from the Holy Spirit challenges you and me, God’s children, to test the spirits to see if they are from God. Every good intention or idea originates from either heaven or hell. Jesus warns that the sign of the end times is this: "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." (Matthew 24: 31 NKJV) Remember that even what appears as a good thing just might cloak a lie. Take heed to this warning: "The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (II Thessalonians 2: 9 – 12 NKJV) Satan appears as an ambassador of light. The liar acts and appears as God. So, beware!
How do you and I avoid the deceptive nature of every good intention? "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (I John 4: 1 NKJV) If we test every spirit that whispers a tantalizing suggestion in our ears, what is the test to compare a suggestion to a lie? You and I need wisdom to discern between divine or demonic influence. In search of this wisdom, I read this: "If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given him." (James 1: 5 NKJV) Don’t be spiritually dense! Ask for divine wisdom about your next adventure! Catch the lie before it devours your family and friends. Before the Lord’s reputation is tarnished.
What is the litmus test for testing the spirits? Look at your heart’s intention! Therein lays a clue to the origin of the whispered message. Before you act upon the suggestion, consider this: "But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there." (James 3: 14 – 16 NKJV) The first thing to review about that new adventure is this: do you have peace in your heart about it? "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints." (I Corinthians 14: 33 NKJV)
Secondly, who gets the glory from this new adventure? Just like Jesus, the Holy Spirit does nothing of himself. He acts and instructs according to divine instruction. So, the next time a whispering spirit tantalizes your fertile mind with a new adventure, remember the litmus test. Who gets the glory? Who gets the peace?

If All Else Fails
From generation to generation, an insidious falsehood intertwines into the fabric of our everyday life. Our worldly mindset unwittingly interprets childrearing from a perspective foreign to God’s instruction. Humanity’s ignorance puts together a plan of action for their newborn according to sociologist, self-help books, and even the child’s whims. Childish whims produce a generation of spoiled brats because "Foolish is bound up in the heart of a child;" (Proverbs 22: 15 NKJV) If you doubt this, eat breakfast surrounded by eight to eleven year old hockey players. Watch the parents ignore the chair pushing, throwing food, and high-pitched screams. Parents should understand that there is a time and a place for excitement. Children lack discernment and understanding. Children need parents to apply this: ‘The rod of correction will drive it far from him.’ (Proverbs 22: 15 NKJV) What is this falsehood that destroys societies happiness?
God says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22: 6 NKJV). Anyone with some common sense understands that training comes from a manual. Armies train future soldiers according to standards of warfare and behavior. Police cadets measure up to a code of conduct manual before graduating to full time positions. Why is this different from training a child? It all starts with this lie: ‘Children are born without a training manual.’ WRONG! Where is the training manual for childrearing?
The Bible is God’s training manual. Take the dusty Bible from your bookshelf and explore with me divine training from the Book of Proverbs.
Foolishness
If a son or daughter receives little instruction, foolishness in actions and speech cause many heartaches. Don’t believe the lie that children grow out of careless actions. "A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her who bore him." (Proverbs 17: 25 NKJV) Teach your son or daughter the proper place and time for excitement.
A foolish son or daughter hates instruction. "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise." (Proverbs 12: 15 NKJV) Teach your son or daughter to love instructions, wise decisions bear fruit to God’s plans. "Now, therefore, listen to me, my children, for blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD." (Proverbs 8: 32 – 36 NKJV)
It is better for a sibling to understand at an early age the rewards of following God’s instructions. With the rod of correction, a child learns the secret to a successful life filled with happiness. Instruct your children that: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be added to you." (Proverbs 9: 10 NKJV) or "The fear of the LORD prolongs days, but the years of the wicked will be shortened." (Proverbs 10: 27 NKJV)
What is one sign of rampant foolishness? Loud and Simple Women "A foolish woman is clamorous (boisterous); she is simple, and knows nothing. For she sits at the door of her house, on a seat by the highest places in the city, to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their way:" (Proverbs 9: 13 – 15 NKJV) This unproductive life style ensnares everyone who enters into her reality. "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes …." produced this lifestyle. If unchecked, a foolish daughter destroys their future home. "The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands." (Proverbs 14: 1 NKJV)
How do you stop a foolish child? Check into whom your children associate with. Get to know the parental standards that influence your children’s friends. God says, "Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge." (Proverbs 14: 7 NKJV)
What is the second sign to rampant foolishness? Wrath "A fool’s wrath is known at once, but a prudent man covers shame." (Proverbs 12: 16 NKJV) Frustration from not getting their own way, a fool lashes out at everything and everyone. Wrath develops from anger. Anger develops from frustrations. Parents, listen up and avoid this: "A wise man fears and departs from evil, but a fool rages and is self-confident. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, and a man of wicked intentions is hated." (Proverbs 14: 16 NKJV) At a young age, address your children’s frustrations. Fathers, make sure that your son or daughters understand the standards. Make sure that the child can achieve the task expected of them.
The third and final sign of rampant foolishness is deceit and scoffing. "The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit. Fools mock at sin but among the upright there is favor." (Proverbs 14: 8, 9 NKJV) If there is one thing a scoffer hates it is this: "A scoffer does not love one who corrects him nor will he go to the wise." (Proverbs 15: 12 NKJV) One way to correct a young fool, review the books, computer programs, and television that influences your siblings. "The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness." (Proverbs 15: 14 NKJV) If your son or daughter utters a demeaning remark about the church, parents, or other siblings, correct that habit now. Remember, God’s instruction: A wise son makes a father glad but a foolish man despises his mother." (Proverbs 15: 20 NKJV)
So, has all else failed in your childrearing? Or, have you read God’s training manual?

Without Excuse
In this hedonistic society, the natural bend towards excuses never raises an eyebrow. Our children blame parents for their wayward actions and ignorant speech. Parents pass the buck of responsibility on to everyone with a plan to improve the welfare of home, office, and play. The ignorance of the divine plan of action eludes the foolish minded. Excuses never remove the problem caused by misapplication of God’s principles. With our technological advances we are without excuse for our out of control homes and siblings. At our disposal, the Bible explains that what you sow you reap. The Ten Commandments are simply written that even a child understands God’s "don’t touch" rules. How plainly can God state the happiness of humanity? We are without excuse for our ignorance.
A time is coming when everyone must give an account of our actions before the Holy Judge of Heaven – Jesus Christ. His piercing eyes of righteousness smashes all our feeble excuses for not understanding or applying a clearly marked pathway to successful living – the Bible. If we remove all our excuses, the reason for our slothful faith is rooted in unbelief. Humanity scoffs at God and mocks the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God said what He meant and He meant what He said. If your understand and apply that principle to your everyday life, your slothful behavior fades into the land of forgotten excuses. God hates excuses.
A word of warning, passing the buck on your responsibility to except Jesus Christ as your saviour costs you a very bad day. This is your future: "Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20: 11-15 NKJV) I warn you, God said what he meant and He meant what he said. No excuse is acceptable for not excepting Jesus Christ as your saviour.
If your name is written in the Book of Life, then heed to this warning: "If my people who are called by my name….." Most of us know this verse in II Chronicles by heart. Then why is North America on the road to hell? Could it be that we – God’s children – mock Jesus Christ by our unwillingness to humble ourselves, pray, and seek His face. God promises to heal our land if we only apply this simple pathway to North America’s success.
We don’t need a new economic plan or a new leadership. North America needs to believe that God said what He meant and He meant what He said. We need to remove all our excuses before most of us have a very bad eternal day.

Pathway To Enlightenment
Everywhere we turn today, someone or something grabs our attention with a promise of a fulfilling life. A life involving peace, contentment, and joy. But, where do you and I find such fulfillment? The new age point of view claims that God is within. That you and I dictate the pathway of each and everyday. To a new age mentality, the human mind is the stepping stone to a fantasy pathway to tranquility. But, is that the truth? Is self the doorway onto your pathway of enlightenment?
Before you decide, consider that the rule of law frameworks everything in nature. Gravity ensures that objects remain on earth. Police enforce rules that dictate the behavior of humanity. The pattern of seasonal change never falters. So it is with the spiritual world. Before mankind entered this earth, God enforced Four Spiritual Laws for humanities enlightenment. These laws ensure that peace, contentment, and joy remains upon this earth.
The gateway to your enlightenment begins with these laws.
Law One: God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. Don’t believe the lie that our minds dictate our actions. It can’t! Only God knows the future. Only God understands the true nature of mankind.
Law Two: Man is sinful and separated from God. Mankind cannot know or experience the divine love and future pathway of each individual. From the Garden of Eden to the modern day jungle, man’s thoughts are evil. Go to any street corner and watch the behavior of street gangs. Observe the behavior of your children. Children never receive teaching on devious actions. It comes naturally. For "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Romans 3: 23) With each action, it influences the outcome of our future. God demands a payment or toil for each infraction of his spiritual laws. What is the payment? "The wages (payment) of sin (infraction) is death (spiritual separation from God)." (Romans 6: 23) A dark valley separates the wayward from the pathway to their enlightenment. A dense fog of confusion hinders the weary traveler from the goal of peace and joy. Many a heavy burdened sojourner deviates from their pathway. Be careful! Consider the fact that your broken spiritual laws cloud your entrance. Stop! Rest! Consider the law.
Law Three: Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Your bridge over the dense dark valley of confusion is Jesus Christ. Because "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners (transgressors), Christ died for us." (Romans 5: 8) If you are banking on your own goodness to bridge the gap between you and darkness, think again. These spiritual laws are binding in the High Court of Appeal. None have broken the law and entered the gates of enlightenment. "Jesus said to him (and you and me), I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14: 6) Believe it or not, this is the law. Ignorance is not a defense.
Law Four: We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Then we can know and experience divine love and direction.
The fog slowly lifts from your eyes and the gate swings open. Will you act? The choice is yours. Chose this day who you will follow – self or Jesus Christ. The outcome means the difference between spiritual enlightenment or spiritual darkness. But don’t wait too long. The gate stays open for a short time. Remember you must receive Jesus Christ and live before entering the realm of spiritual enlightenment.
